UBS Optimus Foundation donated 43.3 million pesos for ‘Teach for the Philippines’ for the development program training the best educators to teach at Philippine public schools.
‘Teach for the Philippines’ is the former group known as ‘Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation’. It is a non-profit professional Philippine organization that enlists the Philippines’ most promising future leaders in our mission to promote education equality.
UBS foundation is a nonprofit, charitable foundation established by UBS in 1999 committed to the well-being of children in need, to have access to education and may grow up in an environment free from violence and sexual abuse.
They have established an innovative partnership that enlists the Philippines’ most promising future leaders in a mission to promote education equality. This collaboration comes with substantial financial
sponsorship by UBS Optimus Foundation.
On June 2013, 50 chosen Fellows will start entering the Quezon City public schools to taech the children.
'Teach for the Philippines’ project will be using the DepEd curriculum under the K-12 education system.
'Teach for the Philippines’ recruits, trains, monitors and supports the most promising university graduates to teach as Fellows in the nation’s under-served public schools for a two year period. In partnership with MIT's Poverty Action Lab, this project will generate evidence about what works to improve learning to enable replication across the country.
