Halloween in Chikka Country

Candies
and pumpkins incite the biggest wow’s and a-wooo’s for courageous kids and kids
at heart during Halloween, one of the most awaited events in Chikka country, the
home of the well-loved app Chikka Text Messenger.

Last October
29, Chikka Headquarters was transformed into a spooktacular haunted house full of ghouls and goodies. Kids in
their most creative and creepy costumes braved six –work– horror stations: the
Living Room, Kitchen, Attic, Bedroom, the Bathroom and the Backyard. With shrieks
and laughter filling the air, not everyone was able to brave the darkness and the
horrifying creatures that lurked in what seemed like a horror movie. At the end
of the hair-raising, spooky adventure trail was the sweet reward—loot bags—for
the brave little souls! Ganito [kami] sa

GMA Network celebrates Yuletide magic

All things are possible if we believe in the magic that the Yuletide season brings. This is what GMA Network tells its viewers in its Christmas campaign this year dubbed, "Walang Imposible Sa Pasko ng Kapuso," which premiers on Monday, November 5 in 24 Oras.

Through four equally heartwarming vignettes, the Kapuso Station takes viewers to a special place where dreams become a reality if one will only believe in the true meaning of the Season.

The first vignette "Bituin" highlights the magical feeling found in making a child's wish come true as a little boy, determined to play the lead role in a Nativity play, receives a big surprise from his parents.

The joy of spending Christmas with the entire family is given focus in the second vignette, "Handa," where a couple living abroad reminisces about spending Christmas in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, another vignette, "Karoling" tells how Christmas can open doors of unexpected opportunities. Here, a teenage boy, who finds it difficult to approach his long-time crush, gets a necessary push from his friends, making way for an unexpected encounter between the two.

Finally, in "Puting Pasko," a woman dreams of having a white Christmas in the Philippines. In the spirit of love, her husband goes the extra mile and grants his wife's winter wonderland wish.

With this campaign, GMA wishes to bring forth the far greater joy that giving brings especially during the Holiday season.

Ritz Azul sizzles as FHM Philippines’ November cover girl

TV5 Primetime Princess Ritz Azul is poised to become every man’s fantasy come to life as she poses for FHM’s November issue. Donning a revealing lace bodysuit for the magazine’s cover, the 18-year-old actress sizzles in her first ever sexy pictorial. The self-proclaimed probinsiyana oozes with a mixture of charming naivete and sexiness that only comes natural to Ritz.

While Ritz is proud and delighted with how her photo shoot turned out, the young star admitted that posing for a men’s magazine was no easy feat.

“Siyempre po kabado ako,” she shared. “Hindi maalis sa akin ‘yun. Pero marami namang tumutulong sa akin kaya lumalakas din yung loob ko [during the shoot].”

Ritz, who won fourth runner up in TV5’s former talent search Star Factor, made her acting debut in the primetime series Nagbabagang Bulaklak in 2011. That same year, Ritz bagged the Outstanding Breakthrough Performance by an Actress from the ENPRESS Golden Screen TV Awards and the Amazing Female Newcomer from Yahoo! Philippines OMG Awards. It was also in Nagbabagang Bulaklakwhere Ritz inadvertently attracted a slew of male fans including FHM’s stable of editors and writers. The editors of the popular magazine admitted that Ritz’s name have always come up in their list of cover girls. And now they are over the moon to have finally featured her as the magazine’s muse-of-the-month since it’s been a while since FHM featured a “debutante” on the cover.

After starring alongside Lorna Tolentino in the soap series Glamorosa, Ritz is faced with another challenge as she stars in TV5’s first superhero drama Kidlatopposite hunk Derek Ramsay.

Star Movies' Movie Triathlon Winners Announced

In photo (L-R) are: Ria Hernandez, Cathleen Andersson, Natalia Ortega, Lesly Yiu  and Dominic Cruz

The third staging of the movie-marathon endurance challenge Star Movies Triathlon saw five winners sharing the coveted title. An interesting mix of yuppies and students won over the contest made more difficult by the fact that two other types of endurance challenges were added apart from the movie marathon itself.

The winners were Ria Hernandez, a 28-year old interior designer, Cathleen Anderson, a restaurant owner in her early twenties, students Natalia Ortega and Dominic Cruz, and another young movie buff Lesly Yiu.
All five survived the Triathlon staged at the Newport Cinema 3 last October 18. They outlasted the rest of the 200 participants from practically all ages and statuses.
Classic movies like "Casa Blanca" and "Apocalypse Now" were shown during the 16-straight hours of movie-watching under exceptionally strict rules that included 'no standing, phone call, sleeping, and yes, no bathroom breaks. The two other challenge categories were Circuit Training and Yoga Poses.

The final nine who lasted the 'triathlon' were all given flat TVs as additional prize before they were led to the surprise "sudden death round" of exercise biking and treadmill run while glued to the big screen for a final stretch to determine the official winners.

Winners won P150,000 as cash prize.

"With three years of consecutive success, it's true no one entertains like Star Movies," said one observer.
