Noel Cabangon’s Panaginip earns a grandslam

Noel Cabangon’s 2011 release Panaginip is undoubtedly the most awarded album of 2011 having been named Acoustic Album of the Year of the Star Awards for Music, the Secular Album of the Year of the Catholic Mass Media Awards, and the Album of the Year of the Awit Awards. This 3-peat-victory may well be considered a grandslam.

“This is totally unexpected, but I cherish these awards,” says Noel Cabangon, who remains to be one of the bestselling OPM acts of today. “I am humbled with these recognitions.”

Panaginip is the second album of Noel under Universal Records. The first was Byahe, which was also awarded the Awit Awards’ Album of the Year.

The album includes the hit title track and Ako’y Mabuting Pilipino. Pasko Ng Pasasalamat, a bonus track from the album, also received Best Christmas Recording from the Awit Awards.

In celebration of these accolades and more, Noel is set to have a repeat of his sold-out Tuloy Ang Byahe concert two months ago. Tuloy Ang Byahe Ngayong Pasko is set to go onstage this December 13 and 14 at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City.

Joining Noel in Tuloy Ang Byahe Ngayong Pasko are some of the most prolific OPM icons of today (13) Aiza Seguerra, Gloc-9, Ely Buendia, (14) Jim Paredes and Buboy Garrovillo of APO, Gloc-9 and Ogie Alcasid.
